Why FR-LSH Copper Wiring is Critical for Smart Automated Homes

By Amit Patel April 10, 2026 4 min read

When clients invest in smart switches, customized dimmers, and connected appliances, they often overlook the foundation: the electrical wiring.

Smart systems use microprocessors that are sensitive to electrical surges and electromagnetic signal interference. Here is why using fire-retardant copper wiring is essential.

1. Understanding FR-LSH

FR-LSH stands for Fire-Retardant Low-Smoke Halogen-Free. In the event of a short circuit, standard PVC wire insulation burns quickly, emitting toxic halogen smoke. FR-LSH wires restrict fire spread and release virtually no toxic smoke, providing critical evacuation time.

2. Eliminating Signal Interference

Smart dimming lines (0-10V or DALI circuits) run close to standard power lines. If cheap wiring without proper copper purity is used, the electromagnetic field from heavy loads (like AC compressors) can cause smart bulbs to flicker. We use high-purity electrolytic copper wires with dedicated conduits to isolate clean smart signals.
